Approx 5-1-1953 until sometime around 9-25-1954(?)

Weekdays at 11:30pm - "Mission Midnight" Saturdays - 2:00 pm to either 4:30 or 5:00 pm - This may have been to host a weekly live broadcast of a concert on which he acted as commentator. Shep left Philadelphia and moved back to Cincinnati for about a year before moving to New York to work at WOR where he remained for 22 years.

Bill Myers who worked at WLW from 1952 to 1982 Joan Frances Interview (Photo below): Bill says that on the back of the photo it says "Frasquita Carmen." And clipped to it was a note: WLW Broadcast Box-- Conductor, Nicholas Rescigno and singer, Joan Francis interviewed by WLW commentator Jean Shepherd Promotional Glass: According to Bill, "It was one of probably two dozen that WLW radio and WLWT television (Cincinnati) offered to listeners / viewers in the summer of 1954. They were called the WLW Sunburst glasses. Each one pictured a different WLW radio or television personality, complete with his or her autograph, along with the signatures of various other personalities.
